Helen Eisemann Alexander was an actress during World War II. She describes her work with the United Service Organization (USO), her participation in various entertainments put on for the soldiers, her life in the USO, and famous actors with whom she worked. She discusses antisemitism and racism during the war and the differences between racial attitudes in New York and the South. She also discusses her work with children with hearing and speech difficulties after the war.
